Susan Tompkins

Susan has worked with Threepoint for over five years and brings a highly collaborative problem-solving approach to developing creative solutions across a wide range of client challenges. Susan works closely with clients on the data-driven modeling and strategic analysis essential to inform effective decisions on both compensation and on broader business activities across the organization. She also provides active thought leadership to help align compensation with client values, culture, and market trends. Susan has been a resource on projects including market-based intelligence for teacher recruitment, the financial viability and strategic prioritization of global campus expansion, and the redesign of a career pathways model to better retain and motivate talent. She actively partners with the Strategy, People, and Leadership teams at Threepoint’s clients.

Before Threepoint, Susan served in various corporate strategy, venture capital, and M&A roles at fortune 500 companies and has experience across start-ups, education, technology, and non-for-profits. As a Director of M&A at Motorola Mobility, Susan oversaw the business case development and financial modeling of key technology investments and interfaced regularly with the banking and VC communities to source and negotiate these deals. She started her career as an associate at L.E.K. Consulting and has an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. from Northwestern University.

When Susan is not consulting, she serves her community as the Board Chair for Explore Ecology, a local non-profit and enjoys creative ventures like cooking, jewelry making, and fashion design. She and her family can often be found hitting the trails around town or at our National Parks.
